good deal or GREAT deal

I have been offerd a plexi-glass display case.

The measurements are 8 feet Long x 8 feet Tall x 3+ feet wide.

the plexi-glass doesn't start until about 3 feet high but it has a hood on top thats about a foot high. It has no vent holes but i imagine that shouldn't be hard to put some in there. It also stands on a legs and i was thinking of cutting off the legs or building around them to make a cabinet. I'm going to check them out later today and i'm taking my digi cam. They are selling it for $200.00 USD. I think it's a great deal what do you guys and gals think. would it be a good investment to convert into a cage???

Hopefully i will have pics up later.

This is the cage

Here is a pic of the display case. Do you think it will turn into a nice enclosure.

WOW. Nice. One question though... how would you get it through a 7' doorway?

Hello,
It is only 2'6" wide so he could lean it through the doorway. The real question though is how high are his ceilings. The convential hight is 8'1". (at least in the states) Does he have 9' ceilings like some houses do or is he going to use it on its side?

Hi rich i'm a girl.

The legs or the bottom section comes off with a few screws when you lay it on its side. So we would have to take it apart to get it in and the put it back togther were we put it. Plus when we do decied to set it up (it's put away for now) it has 5 inch wheels we will take them off so we can fit it into whatever room we decied. Those pics do this display tank no justice. Tomorrow i'm going to take a pic with me standing next to it. Just to show how big it really is. But when i do take the pic it will be dimatled and wraped in (saran-wrap type stuff) to protect it while we are storing it.

I can practicly walk inside this thing. if i was only a few inches shorter.

Thanks all, I can't wait till we move out so we can put this enclosure to some good use.

Thanks all for the comments. With a little work this cage will be great... i would rather pay 200 for this (and do some work) than 350 for a 75 gallon aqurium. We were lounging around today so i decied to go outside and take somemore pics of the new display cage.

Heres a pic showing the legs. We have 2 display cages one is mine and my boyfriends the other is his moms. Hers is a foot wider than our and is to the left of the pics of our cage. Our legs are the top ones.

Invictus as a side note I know you like metal bands. The shirt i have on is a band called Broke thier from st. louis (my home town). There great!!! If you ever get the chance to check them out you should... Another good one from here is Vampire Moose.

LOL.. Broke and Vampire Moose. Got it. Are they Independant bands, or would I be able to find them in a Canadian record store?

That cage looks amazing. What are you going to be housing in it? For that matter, what is your boyfriends mom housing in hers??

Invictus thier indepent i belive. I know they have a few cds out and they have been going on tour around the states.

as far as the cage goes my boyfriend wants to make it into a bigger cage for our bearded dragons. Possibly buying 2 more females. Ever since he saw the cage at our vets he wants the biggest enclosure for them. the beardies are his babies!!! I want an Etb, but i know that cage is way too big and i'm worried about the constent humidity.

His mom and her boyfriend. Not quite certain yet. Shes afraid of alot of things. She has said no snakes and nothing that eats mice. Her boyfriend wants something of value. I did a little amount of research and he has decided on ornate uros. He wants a few of the color morphs. He wants to eventually breed them. I think he said he's at least going to get 4 (1 male, 3 females) That cage is way huge for them but at least they wont be compressed into a small amount of space.
