Damnit Damnit Damnit Damnit Damnit!!!!
Ok, by now you all know that the Leopard Gecko died. It was a sad thing, but I knew it was coming, he was very ill. I kept him quarantined. I made sure to not touch my snakes afterwards, etc.
Yesterday the I checked on the cornsnake and tried to see if he would eat a brained pinky on his own...He didn't so I took it out and threw it out. He was perfectly fine, drinking water and such. So I decided I would wait until today to feed it to him manually.
I just openned the cage to take him out, and HE WAS DEAD! He was fine yesterday. There was seemingly nothing wrong with him!
Sorry Lisa aswell, looks like you won't be taking in the little guy after all
Damnit, this one was upsetting!!!
Jenn

That's too bad. You did what you could, remember though they aren't all supposed to make it. Some are destined to pass on. In the wild a clutch of 20 may hatch. Some will perish to other animals and what not but some will just be weaker in general. It's natures way. But when it comes to CB animals, anything that eats is sold and you never know who may just not make it.
Good luck with your future rescues.

Jenn don't get down on yourself. YOu did way more than most would do. You should give yourself a pat on the back for trying as much as you did. Sorry for this loss and don't give up trying!!!!

Sorry for the loss Jen, but that's the rescue business for ya. You have to kind of develop an iron skin for that kind of thing because, like Marisa said, sometimes they just don't have what it takes to make it. You did your best though, and that's awesome. At least the corn had a fighting chance.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I've been doing rescue since 1978 and while it becomes less painful to lose a rescued animal over time it never does become easy.
