Foggers

Hi there I wonder if anyone can help me. I want to buy a fogger for some great visual affects in my viv.

The only problem is I dont know anybody who has got one and I wanted to know if they are dangerous to my babies before I buy one.

I have two royals and one is a two-month hatchling.

Any ideas/views would be much appreciated.

If what you're looking for is visual effects, foggers are fabulous for the vivarium. If you're looking for actual humidity gain, they're garbage. I'm afraid I can't help you with where to get one as I'm across the Atlantic from you, but pretty much any pet store that has herps will have foggers.

I was using one in my ETB cage for a while. You may find pics in my gallery of what it looked like with all the fog on.
Like Invituc said they make good visul effects but are not functional for raising the humidity. I recently bought an exo-terra water fall for a viv I'm putting together for my ATB's and I'm utting the fogger inside it and it does look cool.
Now as a side note, are you using it for ball pythons, and are you putting both in the same cage?

Hi thre thanx guys.

My hatchling python is in a hatchling box inside my viv and the adult has the rest of the viv to himself.

I am definatly thinking bout getting a fogger for my viv, and my humidity seems to be doing ok at the moment.

Keep in mind that the fogger will basically vibrate the water over the side of the container where it will settle on to the cage floor soaking into the substrate where it will eventually make it very wet. If your royals are left on wet substrate they will develop skin problems.

My only experience with a fogger was in a chameleon cage. It looked awesome but the water got quite hot and there was alot of evaporation so I would check the levels once every day. It helped the humidity some but not alot. I don't know exactly how hot the water got or the temp of the bowl it was in but I remember being surprised at how it felt. Since snakes like warm things I would be very cautious in case it tried to curl around it or got some of the water splashed on it.
