aaashrimp, shes got her own cage and we just take her out and put her down where ever we are gona be and she comes out on her own and hangs out with us, shes slow and so funny,, Have you tried newborn pinkie mice or also some nice big moths?? we hold the food in our finger tips and she comes right out and takes it.. She loves just about anything we give her wax worms and pinkies are her fav, but pinkies are more a treat once in awhile.. she gets lots crix and atleast 8 wax worms then moths every night....

my leopard crunches it up a little but never cuts it into pieces, she just squashes it a little and than just takes it down. My tegu does the same thing to its pinkies so i guess most lizard swallow it down whole.

If ya think your fattail is alittle thin i would give it all the wax worms it will eat in one sitting and also try a new born pinkie mouse if it eats the mouse then do that once a week along with the wax worms and other food everyday For atleast 2 weeks till it gets good weight back on it... China likes to eat everyday.. But after she gets a mouse pinkie or rat pinkie then i hold off on feeding her for 2 days.. The moths i use are just about any kind of big fat moth that i can find, about half inch to inch size and then i hold it in front of her by one wing and she goes nuts slams um right down.. When she eats mice or rat pinkies she crunches um and swallows at the same time but she has never chewed the body in half or anything.. When i first got her she wouldnt eat anything but crix now she eats everything i give her....

Ok, it's just I would have to order wax worms, and I wasnt sure if I should because he wouldn't eat mealworms even after 5 weeks of not eating anything(pet store couldn't get crickets, and it was the middle of winter). I guess if he didn't eat them I could allwase feed them to the turtle...

I don't think waxworms every night is a healthy diet. They are just fat. It will make your gecko obese if it isn't already.

I agree with Aaron. Feeding wax worms every night is not very healthy unless you are trying to fatten up a really skinny animal. Wax worms should only be given as treats every once in a while. If you want a more varied diet than try feeding silk worms. They are extremely nutricious and relished by most lizards!

China came to me as a rescue, she was very thin and also dehydrated when i got her, her tail tip was missin and she didnt shed right, she has been doing extremly well for me, now that she is fatter and doing well her wax worms will be cut down as i do give her other prey items.. Most gex that come in here get as much as they will eat so they can gain wieght and i do vary the diet as much as possible.. They get treated acordingly for anthing they may have and then get vitamins and calcium as well.. China has come along way from what she was till now.. I do agree to many wax worms will make them very fat, but nothing works better than wax worms and pinkie mice for putting on the weight when they need it.. I appreciate your concern.. China gets lot excersize as well indoors and outdoors, shes not just some gex getting fat and lazing around in her cage, shes a big part of this family as well as all my rescues are....
