what kind of snake

i cought this snake at my cottage ..near North Bay Ontario..i have no idea what is it ..its got yellow around the bottom of teh body and teh rest is liek light greyish green ..with a yellow stripe down the middle ...any one have any idea ?..ill get a pic asap

i look at teh snakes of ontario ..and i couldnt find this snake

Post a picture. Garter snakes can be quite variable, and from your description, that's probably it.

It sounds like a Garter Snake to me as well. Maybe do a search on native snakes of Ontario with pictures, and that may help you determine what it is.

yep sounds like a garter to me Ive seen a pic of a checkered garter with those colors

there isn't checkard garters in ontario. it was an eastern garter.

I'd say Ribbon if the stripe was yellow. Did it have three distinct stripes?
