Suri/Guyana

How much do prices differ between these two species???

I would also like to know how much you guys think a descent looking wc 5-6 footer would be worth.

I can't see a whole lot of difference in suri and guyana, can someone point out differences? They live right beside each other in the wild, right? So that would mean the probably cross breed out there? I guess that would mean that basically no-one is opposed to cross breeding a guyana with a suri. Would a crossed baby be worth basically the same? Wow these are beautiful snakes! I am looking to get either some surinames or guyanas.

IMO they are the same snake! If you look on a map the countries of oragine are so close and there is nothing stoping the boas from mixing....Boas don't care about human borders! Here is my thoughts on this hole mix up Guyana & Suriname B.c.c are the same animals but with a great vairiance in thier colour. What I try to do is breed like colours morphs together ie: Pinky ones with Pinky ones get me?

Very nice..Here is my advice on getting a nice one.

Don't go by what I think or what Zoe thinks or anyones else for that matter. Go with what you like the best and breed for that traite. Take me for instance I like the Darker Central American B.c.i's over the Colombian types not may ppl like them but I sure do and that is all that matter cuz there my animals Good hunting make sure you post when you get one.

2 Guyana's they will be three Dec

HI,
I have two Guyana, I ve seen alot for sale at kingsnake .com I am a little nervous buying that way.
My female came from local Breeders here in VA I ve seen the parents of the female. The origins of the male are probably not related he seems to have a more distinct tail pattern . he is in that pre-shed darken phase below.
Male Guyana

the female is a bit larger ,

They tend to darken in color about 2 weeks before shed and will not eat that weekbefore shed, mine only seem to want to feed about every 4 wks and flat refuse if I present food early.
Mine also seem to like a couple degree's warmer than BCI and also shed better at slightly higher humidity.
Now they are older they are more temp/humidity tolerant. Babies can be a pain if not at the correct temps and humidity so be sure your cage is at least 82 ambients no cooler and around 60%.
If things aren't prefect they can and will go off feeding and have been known to regurge rather easily if feeding to large a food item,, I believe most feeding problems are low temp related.
here's the female at about 8 wks..

good luck Hope you can build cages..
Doug

Yup. Just like Colonel SB stated, they are one in the same if you break it down, the snakes were there before we stuck the border there Still even the breeders that share that train of though often breed those exported from Suriname to others of the same origin, same as Guyana, to please the purists out there that do not share the same thought, and continue to believe that they are different. To answer your question, both "localities" are extremely variable in price from $200 CDN to $1000+ depending on pattern, colour, history, etc. However, the ones labelled as Suris typically are at the higher end of the spectrum.
