Is one foot enough height for a boa?

Yup. None of my snake cages exceed one foot in height. If you wanted to give them climbing branches in it then you can give them more height, but otherwise the rest of the space is wasted.

I find that Columbians (even quite large ones) will use height if provided...Prior to selling mine, I had him in a 4' x 2' x 2' and he was fine. But when he was in his 4' x 2' x 6' he seemed much happier and always moved around more. He would eat more consistantly and tolerate handling better. Unfortunately he had to be moved because my frilled needed a larger enclosure!

As a rule though, they don't need to be provided with that kind of vertical space, but it what they have in the wild...

how big is the boa? boas of all ages are semi arboreal, more so when young. cheers as always,

1 foot is the minimum, I would think. But give them height and they will climb. My bci is in a 6x3x2, and I have some bamboo sticks in there, and she does love to climb.

When mine are younger I give them lots of climbing space but as they grow I reduce the height for my adults they get 18 to 20 inches high.

I plan to build my enclosures 18" high. I find a fot to be way too small. Like people have said, it's not required, but give them space and they will use it.
