Auddi01,
Can we get a little more on the history of then kings?
Were these the ones that were part of the deal where yours arrived dead? If so, how were they packaged and where did they come from ? (state that is)
And how long have you had them?

If these are the snakes in the deal, then it sounds like the other person may have been trying to burn you with the kings being in bad shape.

here is what i traded for for these snakes----
i traded 7 eastern boxies fro 1.1 cali kings, 1.2 florida kings, adn 1.0 surinmame boa. we both shipped the same day, he shipped the snakes to me 2 day ups. when i got them they had regurgetated in their bags badly. it stunk terribly. i put them all in rubbermaids and noticed as i was getting the florida king snake male that his hemipenis was out and loked swollen and infected. I imediatley notified him(the guy i got them from) and then posted on here from help. I couldnt stand the smel so i gave all of the snakes a warm bath and i got rid of their smell.( i didnt bathe the one with the prolapse. Now the smellw as gone from the snakes. then as i was holding one of them right after bathing it(it was aacting so nice) it jusdt clamped down on my arm out of no where. which confused me, the only thing i could figure that it was stresed from shipping then the rugurge then the bath. So i put it in it's cage while it was continually striking at me and rattling it's tail. then i heard it sneeze. i didnt think much of it tho. later then evening i heard it sneeze again except this time i saw some snot beside it's head. next day i posted that here. I then ogt a reply form the guy. he said that he was not willing to pay a 100 dollars vet bil for a snake only worth 70 dollars. he said instead he would just shiop me a pair of babies to replace him( so i was assuming he just wants me to let him die!) i havent gotten a response about the ri form him yet....... i dont know what to do. i dont tihnk it is fair that i am stuck with the vet bills when i recieved the snakes in that condition.

Well, it seems like BOTH of you leave a lot to be desired on shipping methods..
2 day is not the way to go with animals period.
2 days of cooking temps, down to cooler temps at night, in a truck or in a warehouse, I for one am suprised they made it as far as they have.

I would decline his offer of shipping replacements as they may well end up in the same or worse condition.
Why have 4 animals you don't want to spend the $ on?

Whether the vet bill is 100 or 1000 dollars, YOU now have the moral AND legal obligation to get these animals to a vet, no matter the cost. It is a set of lives at stake, not just cool pets for a quick buck.
To do otherwise is outright neglect and endangerment.

If you don't learn anything here, about the shipping AND the price that happens for the health and well being of your pets, then I highly suggest giving them up and get into a new hobby, something like origami.

Make sure you temps and humidity are perfect. I would not raise the temps at all. That can actually make it worse. A couple shots of Baytril will do wonders witht he right environment.

I agree with BWSmith. There's no documented evidence that a true infection has ever been resolved by higher temps alone, you still need something to kill off the pathogens. This snake needs to be seen by a vet.

yes med's are needed but baytril may not be the best choice since this a young snake

higher temps will kick the immune system into check since its going to be doing a ton of work. the high heat will allow it to work faster. It may not be documented but many respected breeders have used this technique and have proven it works in many cases

I've seen way too many bouncback cases and snakes that lapse into runny nose syndrome which is near impossible to wipe out all because folks put too heavy a reliance on just increasing temps and humidity. I don't recommend that avenue because I've seen so many deaths from pneumonia when folks tried this technique and it failed miserably.

when people increase the temp, it's to help the system fight the pathogens or viruses. It's not a medication to do alone. As for baitril, do not tell someone to use a specific type of medication till you are 100% certain of what type of infection it is. Viral infections and pathogens aren't the same thing at all. So please do not tell someone to use a specific type of medication unless you saw what it is or are 100% certain.
I have a roughneck with ulceres that spread internally. One vet prescribed me some baytril to treat him. It wouln't work and I was wondering why. I took it to an other vet and he explained to me that when it's a viral infection, baytril won't work.
Bacterial and viral is not the same thing and necessite different medications.

I was mearly giving an example of right conditions and meds. If I was telling him to use baytril or any other medication, I would have given dosages and technique. There is still much controversy over raising temps. I say to keep the temps optimal rather than raising them. If they were to be raised, I would make sure that there is still a nice cool spot it can hang out.

It's ok, I know what you meant by it, it's just sometimes when we say a medication name, people will go to the vet and ask for it and never realise it could be a medicine that wouln't treat the infections.
The vet I got the wrong medication from heard of baytril working for reptiles and would prescribe it for almost anything from mbd (which is quite far fetched if you ask me) to ulceres.
I agree for the raising temp thing. It's not to rise it higher than optimal temps. It's not often we can give optimal temps for our reptiles in fact, it's practically impossible to control the climat of a reptile at an optimal temp for a long period of time.
I know of someone who cooked his fat tail (he was breathing with it's mouth open (we almost all think right away of a respitory infection). So someone told him to rise the temp and remove the water bowl since fat tails don't drink water.... Anyhow, the thing dired out in a day or so.

I have already taken the snake with the prolapse to the vet, i payed for it with my money, I understand that it had to be taken there and i have already doen that. What i was meaning is that i believe he should send me a refund for the vet bill for these snakes since they wree susposed to be in perfect health.....
