Frilleds finally hatched...pics

Well after what seemed to be forever my frilled dragon eggs finally hatched, 2 are out right now and one more on its way. As they were hatching the female was laying another clutch for us. These guys are only a couple hours old and already hilarious.

Thanks for looking

Sweet. Are frilled's hard to keep? They seem like skiterish fast and not-so-docile lizards.

Very cool Jamie. I have been hemming and hawing on whether or not to get involved with them yet.

How did you condition them? Did you go through the whole nine yards as in the wet and dry seasons?

Well the incubation was 74 days at 85 degrees. The babies are actually quite calm, like a beardie but a little quicker when they want to be. As with conditioning them it didn't take much, I feed them all year and kept same temps but in the spring I fed them more than usual and sprayed them 3-4 daily. After the first clutch I didn't spray anymore and they still had a second clutch. From my experience they are rather calm but I have only dealt with captive bred...they are very smart and interested in whats going on around them...they are always watching to see what you are up to and if you have food. The hardest thing I found was knowing when and if she was gravid, there was very little weight gain and up until she started digging I had no idea she was gravid.

Thanks for the kind words and I will get more pics of them up soon

Jamie
