Talking Got a Beardie

Well i was down at the Expo on sunday and i saw the cutest beardie and it was then i decided that he/she should come home with me. But this brings up two questions 1) what will i name it? it must start with an "S" and it must be unisex, i was thinking Sogona but that seems too feminine. and 2) Instead of buying a UVB lightbulb, i was told i could put the cage in direct sunlight and it would be fine. I just want to make sure before i cause any problems. Thank you for your time.

The problem with putting an enclosure in direct sunlight is that the temperature will not be constant. It could easily get too hot...(like the inside of a car on a sunny day).

If you live in a warm climate then an outdoor enclosure might be possible but you have to make sure that the BD has a shaded shelter to cool down.

What about heat? Do you have a suitable basking spot for it? 100-110 is usually recomended.

also if it is a glass the uv will be filtered out. i think it is best to always give it a uv bulb along with some time outside.

Beardies are great reptiles i wouldn't give mine up for nothing.

Putting the glass cage in direct sunlight will not only filter out the UV's but can also overheat and kill your dragon. Do yourself, and your dragon, a favor and go buy a UV light and basking light.
As far as a name... what about... Sabrio? (Say-bree-o) or Sam.

i kinda like sabrio actually. I like abstract names, as you can tell from Skewch, so Sabrio is currently at the top of the list until someone else can top it.
