Any uromastyx at the shows? (and how well do they travel?)

I'm wondering if hatchling uromastyx show up at the shows in Alberta very often..... I have an opportunity to pick up a ~1 year old mali(probably) uromastyx from someone who doesn't want it anymore for $150. It looks healthy (as far as I can tell), has been kept in a good setup, has been fed a reasonably good diet (high on redleaf lettuce, but low on crix at least), and is developing some really nice orange coloration. I don't know if I should get this one or wait.... I'm not sure how to get it back home without stressing it out or getting it too warm or cold (9 hrs by car).

So, if anyone can tell me how often these guys show up at the shows, or give me some ideas how I could transport this one easily, I'd appreciate it

9h is nothing..!

they last over 2 or 3 months in burmution period..thats with almost no food nor heat.
Lettuce is not a good diet AT ALL.
N crickets sould not be fed..UNLESS ITS A VERY VERY RARE TREAT...I will have Uros for sale.LOL....but im in Ontario..LOL
They do make a great pet!.

I know lettuce is bad, but at least red leaf is a step up from iceburg..... this uro is also being fed carrot, squash, and moistened adult iguana diet...... not too bad considering what some people who buy from a petstore and don't know any better feed their herbivores. I'm wondering if it can actually be a Mali though - it's most definitely getting orange, and my current understanding is that malis don't do orange.

So, how would I transport it? I've only transported snakes by car myself..... with a small rubbermaid with holes in it and the lid taped shut, and an appropriately sized pringles can glued to the bottom for a hide....

In extreme temps you will want to be packing a styrofoam cooler and either heat or cold packs. Pack your uro up in a rubbermaid in the cooler inside the show before you venture out into the heat/cold. These guys are more susceptable to the cooler temps than the warmer temps since they enjoy quite warm temps regularily. If weather is nice then a rubbermaid should be fine. Bring temp gun (if you have) or at least a good digital thermometer to monitor your new pet on the journey home
