Bah!! after 3 weeks!

I couldn't believe it. 3 weeks ago I was so upset with myself because I lost a baby gecko. She escaped out of her cage and I looked my herp room up and down and could not find her anywhere. She was only a little over a week old so I thought for sure she would be a gonner. I was so upset my husband who hates my herps even felt bad for me....
Well.... guess what?!
Today I came home for lunch to my daughter and her babysitter and my daughter was so very proud of herself. She was playing in the basement and she found my little baby leo. She was a bit dirty and skinny in the body but she has a nice tail for her age. She must have been finding the escaped crickets and god knows what else in that basement. lol. But she is looking great and seems to be happy to be back in the warmth of a cage. Poor little thing was quite cool to the touch and very calm for the adventure she had. She was originally in the herp room upstairs. 2 flights of stairs from the basement. I'm not sure if she went the stair way down there or the duct work for the furnace. But I'm so glad she was found. My daughter (8years old) was very proud of herself, maybe part of that was because I think I thanked her a couple dozen times. lol I'm so happy to have my little baby back in one piece and looking good.

Oh, my daughter is quite attached to the little one. She even had the baby sitter take her into the herp room, pull out a hatchling box and check to see how it was set up and set up the new tank for this little girl exactly like the others. I was so proud of her. I told her it seems like she adopted her. lol If she wants her, she is hers! Not sure if she will though, she already has one of the beardies and thinks my blue tongue belongs to her. lol Now if only I could get her to do the feeding.

But, yes, I was VERY relieved, happy, and not to mention shocked that this little girl, born May 15 was still alive after 3 weeks on her own. A miricle to say the least. In a three story house, I didn't think we would ever see her again. Just thinking about it I'm getting all teary eyed. lol
I'll try to get a pic. up of her later.

Congratulations! I know how you feel. I lost my blue tongued skink a few weeks ago and finally found him after 11 days, so I understand your relief and happiness. Of course, my bts is bigger, older, and hardier. Not to mention, should be harder to lose!
