bearded dragon mating???

i have a male and a femail bd in the same tank and yesterday i went out for awhile and my mom called all frantic saying they were trying to kill eachother she said they were bobing up and down and waving there arms and said the male was bitting her neck i have seen them wave there arms and bob heads but never like what my mom said they were doing is that a sign that they were trying to mate?

Sounds like they were mating to me. If the male was trying to ''kill'' the female, he probably would have succeeded.

yes i belive it is a sign of mating. when my beardies go to mate the male will bite her on the neck a few times. but there is rarely any harm done to my female. but they do mate rather quickly so it will be very rare unless you are watching at all times to catch them in the act. I wouldn't worry to much unless he really starts to hurt her. Ex. drawing blood, or if you notice her not eating, things like that.

hope this helps. and pay attention for her laying some eggs in a month or so.

oh forgot to mention. when she is ready to lay her eggs (mine does this) she will run around almost nonstop, kicken sand and whatnot. When she is in this stage you need to give her a nesting box. and it needs to be a nice size. if that works that is a picture of my cage with the nesting box in it.
