Am I headed for an egg bound snake?

This morning before I left for work at 6:20am I saw that my corn had her pre-egg laying shed. When I got home this after noon(2:30pm) I found that she had passed two eggs one good one bad in the hide box on the cool side. She was in the hide box on the hot side with fresh wast but no more eggs? How long before I worry about whether or not she is egg bound? I felt her and she still has some in her.
Thanks,
Trevor

my first tme breeder females last year laid 10 eggs over a 5 day period, and ended up egg bound. She passed 3 more over the next two weeks and died trying to get the last 2 or 3 out. SHort of having surgery, I did all I could do by keeping her warm, massaging her 3 times a day, and leaving her in a dark secluded part of the snake room so as not to be disturbed.

Good Luck

My 1st thought is ......that having her eggs in the same day she had her pre-lay shed isnt that normal......I have never had a female shed and start laying all in the same day........Are u sure she didnt shed abit before this? Maybe this was her post shed?

If she did in fact pre-lay and lay her eggs in the same day I wouldnt get to concerned at this point........give her 24 hrs to 36 hrs and see what happens........if u notice that the eggs are moving down but she isnt laying then u have a problem.

Sometimes u can get away with waiting it out but it has been my expierence that more offten then not they die......If I were u I would take her to a vet after 48 hours and see if they can aspirate the eggs to help her out........sometimes Oxytocin will be given but again in my expierence that has to be given with in the 1st 24-36 hrs or it wont work.

If maybe u over looked a shed ......and this is her post shed I would take her to a vet ASAP..........Shell need to have those eggs aspirated in the hopes that they will drain enough for her to pass them.

Best of luck

No sheds were missed. She has been crusing pretty steady since last night. Also it does not look like the lump has moved down near the vent yet. When the lump moves down and nothing happens then I'm going to take action but for now every still seems normal.
Thanks,
Trevor

Well this what is happening now. She crused yesterday but today she seems content to be back in the hid on the cool side. I took her out and I could feel somewhere between 15 and 17 eggs. The last one is still at least 2" from her cloaca. I think I'm fine until the egg mass starts to head down to the vent. She looks like she has lost alot of weight though. I think that with the eggs still inches away from the vent she has settled in to wait to lay, I hope that's what it is.
Thanks again for the replys,
Trevor

Clutch number two is being laid as I type this! It has been five days since she shed and passed two eggs and 39 days since she was paired with my snow corn. I can’t wait to how these guys are going to turn out!
Cheers,
Trevor

Thanks. As of 5:30am this morning the count was 20, 14 good and 6 slugs and she is still going. That's not bad considering that her frist clutch was 22, 10 good and 12 slugs. Both my snow and my normal had a turn with her but if the nubmer are correct the snow should be the father. It has been 39 (the avarage) since their first pairing.
Cheers,
Trevor
