Wont breed?!

Me and my friend both have leopard geckos and they are both around the same age(2yrs). Since January him and i have been trying to get them to breed. Nothing. Shes laying eggs (2 each clutch) but none of them seem to be fertile. After a week or so i shine them with a flash light and the insides are yellowish, then after a nother week they slowly cave in. When i get my female back from my friend there are scars on her tail as if they were trying to mate, But the eggs never last Is this normal??(its our first time trying to breed them) Is it my female or his male?

well the first year breeding a female and the male is not always the best sometimes you wont get any good eggs the first year have you seen them breed and are you sure its 1.1 and you might want to leave her with the male for awhile dont keep on seperateing them so you will know for sure they bred

How are you incubating them?

Im 100% positive there 1.1.

Im using a Hova-bator incubator and the air temp inside the deli-cup is about 87F (i want to hatch males).

There have been some suggestions that certain males and females when bred, cannot produce fertile offspring. Whether it goes back to origins or not is hard to say. I have a pastel female who I have attempted to breed with my largest patternless and in two years she has only laid 5 fertile eggs out of 23. Next year she gets a new boyfriend! I only ever saw them mate twice. Another possibility is that there is something about the housing that is making her uncomfortable. Try to arrange things so that it is similar to her own home and be sure to have extra hides so that she can go somewhere if she feels stressed. Another trick that has worked for me in the past is to feed them before you introduce them, for some reason it calms down the females Hope this helps you out a little!

so with your 2 leopard geckos was it because of the male that she only had 5 fertile eggs or the females "falt"? (just curious).

And mine has already laid 4 clutches and the last three just collapsed. Do u soppose that i shold try mating her with another male?

You probably already thought of this, but just in case I'll mention it. Do you have a moist substrate like vermiculite in the deli cups? I have a hova-bator as well, and for comparison reasons I'll tell you what I do. I haven't had any hatchlings yet but I'm expecting my first around the 15th and the eggs look fine. In the cups I put the eggs a bit over half covered with vermiculite and spray it fairly heavily on the 1st and 15th of every month. Before I put the eggs in I also pour in a lot of water to make it moist. I cover the cups with a lid with a few holes in them. Oh, you probably do this also, but I put water in the trenches in the bottom of the incubator. All this is fairly obvious, but there might be a small chance something will help out.

Im doing practically the same thing as you. I'm just wondering, have any of your eggs started to grow a orange mold on the top? Mine usually do after the first 2-3 weeks. I try to wipe it off with a Q-tip but it just comes back ever so slowly! Any idea why?
