Thumbs up Ribbon Snake Progress

My new Ribbon Snake is doing wonderfully. I haven't gotten her on pinkies yet but she is eating for me. I bought some fish and just put them in her water bowl. She didn't run away from my hand when I did that. So she's getting calmer. I had to move her over because she was right in my way, and she didn't struggle or squirm.

After seeing her personality her name was a tie between Chaos and Spaz. I chose Chaos.

She obviously ate. I put five fish in the water. Two died. Two are there. So she didn't eat much. But sometime last night, she ate the bigger fish. I'm so happy.

She's less shy. Instead of staying constantly in her little coconut hide away. I caught her having about two inches of her body out of it, looking at me and looking around her enclosure.

I'm so happy I got her and am successfully taking care of her. I'm still sticking to my two weeks of no handling. But I'm glad she looks healthy and happy.

Jenn

Excellent, it sounds like Chaos should settle in just fine. Ribbons are high-energy fast moving snakes and lots of fun. They have the reputation for being a bit shy and nippy but mine doesn't live up to that. He's quite tolerant of handling and likes to twine himself bethween my fingers or in my hair.

It sounds like you're just like me now, with a ribbon tied around your heart.

Wonderfull, I have loved reading your post on your wonderfull new snake. It sounds like chaos is doing alot better and maybe if he keeps the good behavior up you could handle him before the 2 weeks is up in like 1 week. Cant wait for your next post about chaos. Maybe you should give an update like every 2-3 days. To keep us infoed!!!

Actually, I made a new page that you might be interested. It reports on both Montey AND Chaos.

Looky! I grabbed a pic of Chaos as she was starting to become un-shy! lol It's a crappy pic, but you can see her cute little head peeking out:
