Blood Boa Pics
Just received some really cool new boas and snapped a few pics.
Hypererythristic or blood boas.
A closeup.
As far as I know this is a naturally occurring simple recessive mutation of the Nicaraguan boa.
Thanks for looking.

Dan ..Dan....Dan.....Everytime I think I've seen them all you show me something new. I can not wait until I can get more. Or you produce some. Next year is so far away! Oh by the way I found out that female did come from you as well. Nicaraguan's kick ***!
Consider my name on that wait list!

If you peruse VPI you will see blood boas, pewter boas and some other very nice things. Dave and Tracy Barker are forerunners in the breeding business.

I have looked at their site it is too bad they do not mention how the genetics of the bloods and pewters work.
Did they breed the blood to a type 2 anery make double hets and then breed the double hets together to make the pewters.
A pewter is the double recessive combination of the blood and anery genes in one snake. Just like pewter corns.
I am 90% sure the bloods are recessive and I know type 2 anerys are recessive.
I guess Dave and Tracy do not like to give out too much info.
I have 1.3 bloods and 2.1 type 2 anerys now so I hope to find out in the not so distant future.
