Inside scoop!

Not many of you know but I screwed up with a clutch of hog eggs (16 to be exact!!) wherein I didn't think the female was gravid and didn't supplement with calcium. Doh! So all the eggs weren't well calcified. Most died within the first week even after developing blood vessels. And finally after 54 days, I have the lone survivor!

Now all I have to do is watch the yolk get smaller and I will be able to predict the hatching date. *sigh* Makes the waiting alot easier! lol

Fantastic pic Vanan! I have a "survivor" too. She hatched w/out any incubation or anything extra. I thought the egg was bad (it looked horrendous!) and put it aside. Well, I forgot to throw it away and it stayed in the cup for 2 mos. I picked up the cup one day to toss it out---and inside was a very cool thayeri! What ssp. is yours?

Way cool Mark! Goes to show, if eggs are good, they'll hatch no matter what (with a few exceptions of course)!

Mine are just regular plains. No kennerlyi here. Damn!
