I have argued around here that these are truely mimics, look at the tail. I think they resemble Crotalus atrox enough to worry preditors at least in color and pattern

You are soooo lucky, you saw a wild buffalo, I cant believe it! I have only seen them at live stock auctions and Zoo's, they are by far my favourite Mammal!
