You Know You're a Giant Keeper When...

This is what 600 lbs of rabbits look like in the back of a 1/2 ton. Wasn't even finished loading these when Karel Bergmann shot the pic...had to use a tarp and ratchet straps to secure the load in the end. I go through this many rabbits (not to mention my supply of rats) every few months and have 2 giant chest freezers in my garage devoted to just snake food. And people ask why I'm thinning out my collection - LOL

I thought that us crazy guys in the south were the only ones to haul rabbits like that. Exept we usually don't use a tarp. I have to wonder what people think when they see em. Don't you just love those trips to the rabbit breeders. Our breeder freezes them and I always get shredded by their stinkin toe nails.

There's plenty of us crazies up north as well. LOL
Ya, I took a few cuts from those damn nails. Also takes a good hour or so just to pack them all in my freezers...like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. And that doesn't count the lamb, goats and piglets I also buy on occasion (just fed a lamb to one of my retics on Monday).

I keep 4 Sulawesi retics (2 of the females are around 20'), 4 super dwarf retics (2 females are on small bunnies), 2 large African rocks (the female is over 200 lbs and 19-20'), 3 Selayar retics, 3 Ambon retics, 2 yellow anacondas and a large female tiger retic (18').

Used to own green anacondas, 4 Bali retics, 2 more super dwarf retics, another large Ambon retic, a Ceram retic, countless locality unspecific retics over the years, 8 Burms, you name it. I'm probably forgetting something...
