As always at the local conservation area, there were turtles basking in a quiet end of the lake on some floating logs. Sometimes there are like 30 here, this day there was only like 10. One huge one though!
What kind of turtles are they? Gotta love turtles! That one is HUGE! I gotta get a camera and take some pics at a local golf course. There is a ton of Western Painted turtles in the water hazards.
I wish I could tell you what kind they are but they live mostly in a place that makes getting close to them hard. To come around and get near enough to actually see detail you have to come down a hill to the waters edge...its a little cove, anyways by the time you even start going down the hill they almost all jump off into the water.
That looks exactly like the feeder canal on the way to my cottage, and i always see tonnes of turtles basking there, that look exactly like those ones lol! its quite a sight to see.
Great pics!
