need help

i was wondering i really want to get 2 burm's but i need to know what to house them in i have a 130 gallon aquarium that is 3 feet all around and 2 feet high..but i was told that that would be no good..so i dont know what to do....i bought it not thinking about checking out about houseing cause i found it for really cheap...so i need to know either where to buy a good housing unit or what i would need to make them.

For an adult burm your going to need a cage that is 6' x 2' x 2' when its full grown, your 130 gallon would be fine to house one for a good year i would say... Your best bet would be to make the enclosures out of melamine... you can probably make BOTH cages 6' x 2' x 2' including glass fronts etc for under $200.00 if you do it right...

Most burms will outgrow a 6x2x2 cage, many burms reach 14' - 16' (and can exceed 20' though this is not common) and a 6x2x2 can only house something up to 10'. But also, if you get a baby burm you cannot house it in an adult sized enclosure or it will get stressed (and probably lost

). So you need to graduate sizes.

You're best bet is to build you own for enclosures like that. I can't help too much, I'm not extraordianrily handy when it comes to building things

LOL...but Jeff is the man for caging around here. Don't know of anyone that can build great cages in such short timespan for minimal $$

well for starters the cage should be two thirds the length long and i third the snakes length wide and high at the veryLEAST!!
burms grow amazingly fast and can reach 10' in a year! so look ahead i hold to adult burms in an enclosure that is 12' Lx 6'Wx 7'H
ganted many ppl dont have the room to do that but the more room the better (definatly build your own or have someone build it for you) as to go and buy would cost unbelievable $$$$!! also build it as strng as possable when i first got one of my burms i was constructing the cage so i put him in a overnight temp cage that was 2x2x5 and it wedged itself back and forthalong its own body then pushed and turned that plywood to splinters.LOL good luck THINK BIG!!

yeah jason is right, the infant burm that we have at the store is a lil escape artist, we've had to move him through 3 different setups and he's only about 2 feet long!

Either way, one 130 gallon tank can not hold two burms, seeing that its in the best interest u house them seperately...

Another tank of that size would suit two burms for a year or so...but then as then as the others said...u'll have to build em urself....

the problem with these snakes is that they get way to big! way to fast!...lol
Just remember what ur getting ursself into....thats 4 cages! two screentops...two lights...maybe some heat tape...3-4 sheets of melamine...a bunch of glass...thermostats, etc.....plus the expensive meals these guys can take down...
This will cost u well over what u paid for snakes...and u have to decide whether its worth it...

I'm still recouperating from the money i spent on my cages....lol

I use cages that are 6'x4'x2'.........this size if fine for the entire life of the animal. The only advice I can give you is make sure the glass is strong because they will strike at it from time to time and also make sure the corners are sealed good as they expell a lot of waste.

well i am thinking about getting them still....not to sure i have to cali. king's but i want a boid. so i dont know what to do...mind u i am new to owning snakes but i have worked with them before.. so i need to decide what to get

well if i was to get the carpet.. i would diffenatly need to make a new cage but either way i am going to need a new cage...i finally did something with my 133gallon i divided it into 2 and put my kings in there..so now i have 2 empty 15's, 1 10gallon, and 1 33gallon!
