Good News...Bad News

Hey Folks,

Well, my Corn Snake "Froto" has decided to see the "Big" world and has escaped from his cage. After spending hours moving things, looking inside of things, under things, around things.and having laid down about two pounds of flour around all doorways and baseboards, putting out water dishes and heat lamps, there is still no sign of him. I have succumbed to the fact that it is a "BIG" world and if he is still in the house he will eventually surface.

However I could not be stuck on a count of 13 snakes so last night I picked up a real pretty high yellow Ball Python hatchling. I didn't plan on it but I could not resist the deal. Pics to follow in the Python section..

Sigh

Well the bad news just got good..Froto has returned. While in the laundry room, something posessed me to look up and low and behold there he was sitting on top of one the insulated hot water pipes. Needless to say I am very happy to get him back. But on top of that he also finally ATE, and on top of that he actually ate rats instead of mice. This is a first. But it doesn't stop there, I also got two others onto rats, The albino started to eat again, and 4 of the babies came out of good sheds. Guess you could say it was a perfect day..

Great news that you got him back and that he is taking rats. We have found since switching several of our colubrids over to rats that they feed much less frequently, even though the volume of a single extra small rat isn't more than the two mice they were taking - they are now eating at most twice a month. Will be interesting to see how yours progress on rats. Glad you got him back,
