Country:
Jungles (not albinos)

I'm one of those non-albino fans, of most things, except albino green burmese pythons, but albino corns, kings, boas, balls, don't do much for me.

So in retaliation to Mark Isbel's post on albino jungles, here are my plain old normal ones! (You know we love ya Mark!)

<img src="http://members.shaw.ca/kattia/jungles.jpg">

My male is at the top.

They SO SQUIRMY. I wanted to rip off their little heads. See the looks of fear in their eyes?

Anyways, a congrats to Mark regardless of the albinoness of his jungles.

They really strongly resemble the king side in their faces, don't they? Are they normal corn by normal cal king? They seem to have smaller saddles than many jungles I have seen - I like the amount of background color. Is it that you selected these two for that or was the whole litter similar? Do you think it is influenced by pattern in the king or corn parent - eg would a 50/50 cal king be more likely to produce this than one with thin bands?

Nice babies,

Actually, Mary, the mom of those guys was my 50/50 caliking who is white and black with light yellows on the belly. Definitely the main influence in the babies. Those two were my holdbacks from our jungle breeding. The dad was a normal striped corn and we're hoping to prove out the striping in jungles through those babes.

Thanks Vanan,

Interesting how the broad white comes through in this generation from the 50/50. Now that you mention it I recall that these are het striped. Will be interesting to see if there is an impact on the striped pattern (thicker stripes??) in the next generation. Breeding is such fun,
