Egg laying substrate?

I've seen ppl use soil as an egg laying substrate and i was wondering if it would be okay for beardies? What kind of soil should i use? Does it matter and why?

you can use a mixture of poting soil and sand(moist) it should work good

Is there a special kind of potting soil?? Or will anykind do?

I use spagnum moss and incubate under the bathroom sink with a 75%+ hatch rate on my snakes. A double sided tupperware container allows one side to stay soaked while the other gets the humidity benefits.

Im talking about a box where my female can lay her eggs, not an incubator. Sorry if i wasnt clear.

I use topsoil rather than potting soil so there aren't any chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Or I just use ground coconut husk like in their cages except still damp. They seem to prefer that over soil.

Can the chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides harm them?

Absolutely! Toxins can build up in both the female's body, and can also penetrate the shells and harm the developing embryo.
