Question which one is the real mccoy?

I did a google search for rose-haired tarantulas and I fished 3 diiferent scientific names out of the results - grammostola rosea, grammostola gala and theraphosa blondi. Do all of these share the same common name? Which one is the true rose-haired t?

I already have several house spiders (spindly tan coloured web spinners?) that I consider pets (Harvey, Priscilla, Leito, Zak and Darwin) so why not?

A true rose hair is a (grammostola rosea)... There is also several color variations of the rose hair, 1 a copper color, 2 a regular color with pretty pinkish carapace, and 3 the red phase the most beautiful of them all..

Theraphosa blondi is a -completely- different species. Thats the goliath bird eater... never confuse that with a rose hair or you're in for some trouble.

The old names for chilean rose hairs are gala and spatulata... the accepted one right now is rosea. The red phase used to be considered a different subspecies but they have changed their mind and now consider it a different colour morph of the same species.

The chilean copper that someone mentioned is actually a different species called paraphosa scroffa.

Theraphosa Blondi is a goliath birdeater... I dunno where you found that being called a chilean rose hair! lol

I figured 'blondi' would be a bit odd for a rose hair... the site that called them theraphosa blondi is to be fair an art site not an educational one....

Do goliaths really have up to a 12-inch legspan???

They have actually been recorded at up to 13 inches... they aren't called goliaths for nothing
