well for 1 what size is the ball python?
i kept my baby ball in a 20 gallon with lots of things inside of it so it didnt seem as large to the snake. now that it is a bit larger, he is about 8 months old i keep him in a 33 gallon long tank and this should last quite awhile longer. i also keep 2 hides, 1 for the hot end and 1 for the cool end, and also a tub of water on the cool end as well. he seems to be doing quite well in there.

I think a a 20 with a water bowl and one of those Vision Bowls \ hides will be good. You might want to ad a reptie Hamick because the only reason a ball will every climb is when its trying to excape.
