Big scarlet king

At over 24", this is a pretty large scarlet king. You don't see too many this size. Eats small fuzzies or pink rats. '

Their natural range is the south east U.S. Including all of Florida, where this one was found last year. Most of my adults are less than 18".

By rare I meant in collections and in shops. The only thing I can ever hope to find on my farm is the occasional gater!
Great shots,
Trevor

Yeah, I would expect to find very few up there. Especially for sale in a shop. Many want anolis spp. for food or skinks so it might be difficult to keep 'em fed. (especially the neonates and juvies) I have 1 adult that has taken a pink only a couple of times in 6 yrs. the rest of the time he's fed brown anoles. A challenge sometimes. That's why I spend a lot of time at shows trying to convince people NOT to buy one from me. They see the beautiful little hatchlings and want to have one right away.

Nice colors on that one . I think I read somewhere that the longest one on record is only 27". So she's definately a big girl for her specie!
