feeding cage?

How many of you use a feeding cage?

We feed our Pueblans f/t fuzzies. So far, we have thawed them in warm water then put them on paper towel to absorb the extra moisture. Then, the mouse is put on a few layers of newsprint in the snakes cage. We haven't had any problems, but we're always looking for a way to improve.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance,

Scott & Leah

Sounds like you've got a good system. I've never used a feeding cage, because it makes my snakes super aggressive when I put them in a rubbermaid for another reason (for example, cleaning). If I just feed them in their cage, they have about a 5% chance of an entry being food, so they don't expect to be fed.

But it works for many, so why not stop :] The only difference is I thaw them under a weak bulb so they arent wet and are just slightly warmer than the air, and when I did feed in a seperate cage there was no substrate.

Wink Feeding

That's perfect. I feed my babies in their tanks but once they are above 18", they are fed in a feeder tank with just news paper.
Here's my feeding cage.
