making a screen lid?

Hi guys. I'm trying to make a screen lid for my 48x24 tank, I was thinking about how and I'm not 100% sure... has anyone done this? Have any tips? Pictures?

Thanks!

Check out this post for pics on our home made screen lid. It also has all of the materials that we used. If you buy a full screening kit like we did the instructions are in with it.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me or Baby "G" and we can help you figure out how to make it.

Home Depot sells all the aluminum framing, "t" fittings, elbows, screen, and the spline. Go there and tell them you need to make a screen and frame for it

Thanks guys! I hadn't even considered a window kit - I was going to use wood trim etc. Your idea sounds a lot easier though!

What we did was cut a hole in a piece of scrap wood and staple hardware cloth. worked for us and made the lid cat proof. the window kit looks like a good idea though

I got to thinking last night (10 hours into my shift hehehe)... would these kits make a reasonable chameleon cage? With enough of them gathered in one place that is?
