Polymorphism in Crested Geckos

With crested geckos being polymorphic, it's always a surprise to see what colour and pattern the hatchlings have. Many times I've been shocked at the colour differences between not only parents, but clutchmates. I'm working on a chart to show the colours and patterns in hatchlings from one of my ciliatus pairs. I'll add more examples as the clutches hatch, but for now there's a fairly good start.

Polymorphism in Crested Geckos

Isn't genetics just wonderful????

Definitely a cool experiment. Cresteds are great aren't they? Mine doesn't change colors too much, just change shades really. I've seen some change colors as drastically as a chameleon. Wonderful crittters.

My gecko goes from a grey to a bright orangy-brown but usually only changes shades too. That is really cool!
