tokay humidity
Hey everyone. I am misting my tokays cage 3-4 times a day, but do you think that this would helP?? I have paper towels wetted on top of the screen(where the lamp isnt of course). Would that keep his humidity up too you think?? Also it sucks this guys are so mean cause they're so dang PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night instead of running when i was putting in substrate, he stood his ground and came after me lol. He has alot of ego for a little 8'' tokay, although it hurt when he got me, lol he bites and kinda wrips.

Well, what's the humidity at when you are just misting it? And what's it supposed to be at? If those two percents are close enough, I wouldn't bother with the moist papertowels.

Hey, its around 60 but it is going up because at another forum i was told to either duct tape bubble wrap, or aluminum foil to the screen, and it is holding in the humidity very well.

I will get them tomorrow. My parents have the digital camera cause theyre in maryland for my sisters cheer competition, but when they return, ill be sure to get them as fast as i can. Although it may be hard, cause hes at his best when hes pissed, lol. And when hes at his best(probably as mad as he gets), he lunges at anything, me, sticks, leaves in his cage.

mine is normally at 75% percent all the time, but right after a misting it will spike up to 80-95 for a short while.

get a little humid-o-meter thing, and put it so its easy to see in the cage. Place a shallow dish of water in their, and keep misting a few times a day. If humidity stays at a good level, keep refilling the water, and keep spraying. If it is still not high enough after a day or two of doing this, fill a 1L pop bottle 4/5 up with water, and glue some screen across the top of it, leaving the lid off. This should raise it some more.
