Possession of stolen property is possession of stolen property in the eyes of the law. One of my customers was charged for the same after he made what he thought was a legit purchase of a pool table. Turned out it had been stolen from a property when the people where away on holidays. When he challenged the charge and sent the cops a knockin' on the house of the seller. The house had been vacated. Cops made a judgement call on the situation and charges were dropped, but the pool table was confiscated. The morale of the story..."Cavaet Emptor"...Let the buyer beware.
