old enclosures, new pics :P

Cant sleep, expo tomorrow...
Thought id share the enclosure unit i built i while back.
this pic shows all the heat tape etc wired up and working like a charm.
I dont know what id do without my helix control....They're just so damn amazing!
I rarely ever check my temps as they never fluctuate more then a degree of what they're set at.

Nice cage man. I think the heat tape is running right under the melamine. Maybe it should be running across the back of the melamine.

Nice set up Grant. What are you using for tracks for the sliding glass fronts?
Thanks,
Trevor

ive always used heat tape under melamine with great success.

@Boid keeper , im using just the plastic white tracks from Home depot.

Jason, im on 5' 10" Except it helps to have a step around.

Thanks for the comments all.
Im probably gonna sell them this summer and invest in some plastics.

Grant,
LOL wanna get a head start on the summer and sell one now? :bsmile:

ThEmAdHaTtEr,
Heat tape is very similar to heat pads. It comes in widths of 3", 4", 11", and can be cut to any length (it comes on a long roll). You have to wire it yourself (which is why it is not approved in CSA approved). Basically heat pads are the same idea, only they are already wired up, etc for you.

Agreed!... I'll take one anytime you decide to move them! (but can wait till summer if thats your plan)
Are you selling them piece by piece or the entire unit as one? I would be interested in one of the layers *if* yer selling them piece by piece.

wow, they are supperb!! I just got some of that white strip to try on my new beardie cages. lol. Guess I don't have to worry if it works or not. How did you do it? Put one glass in each slot? They seemed fairly wide. I have 6 feet long cages to do so I'm not sure how I'm ganna do it yet. I may do three sheets of glass 2 feet each and put one in the middle that will be a permanent piece and then the two sliding ones on each side. Or I may just do 2 3 feet ones. Well, adding about an inch for sliding capasity. lol.
Also, what did you use for the vents? Thanks.
