Talking a managerie of critters in my apt.

alright. i've written before with questions and mostly i've replied to posts but now i HAVE to tell everyone what myself and my roomates all have... be prepared...LOL!

me: Green Iguana (tequilla is about 2 feet in length right now) and a Togo Fire Skink ( Gucci is about 6 inches in body length. has more growing to do yet.

1st roomate: Bearded Dragon (Galaxy is about 18 inches at the moment and still growing), a Jackson's Chameleon (Frodo is just a baby but is cute as pie), and a Box turtle (Derby is estimated to be about 5 years old and only about half her size...she got abandoned at work).

2nd roomate: 2 Mali Uromastyx (Mesho and Gojida are a male and female pair, maybe nest mates and full grown), and a white lopp rabbit (Amadeus is a full grown male and VERY sweet).

between the 3 of us we also have 3 Ball Pythons. Greed, Envy and Wrath are all still very young. they are about 1 1/2 feet right now and still growing. Wrath is the male and Greed and Envy are the females.

interesting huh? any suggestions on how to secure the reptile enclosers for when the snakes get loose in the future? don't want any of our smaller friends having horrible experiences. ya know? i have padlocks on my Togo already, but the rabbit roams the kitchen freely and all the other reptiles just have tops on their tanks that don't lock down. we figured that it was too inconvienient on our parts to buy special locks for them so if there are any easier and cheaper ways to secure them i'd appreciate it. thanks!

Simple velcro you can buy it at any hardware store. Self adhesive.
It comes in strips. Put the lid on, cut one side (loop or hook) into two peices put a piece of velcro on the lid and a piece on the tank then use a piece twice as big as the smaller ones of the opposite side (loop or hook) to hold the lid in place! Do not peel the backing off the piece used to hold the lid down (the bigger piece). Repeat on all four corners. The bigger the strips the stronger the hold! This stuff was invented for N.A.S.A!

thanks! right now all we have is this horrible lid that hooks on the back and has cheap plastic pieces to "lock" the lid on. the Ball Pythons are too smart for it. they just push up the back corner! we will definatly try the velcro though. thanks a lot!
