Question Humidity

I made my own humidity chamber by putting aspen shavings in a plastic container and soaking them and setting the container under a light. Are the aspen shavings at all toxic when wet? I do this for my king because he has dry sheds sometime.:w

I believe that wet aspen shavings are fine, but they do not really hold humidity all that well. I would recommend using spagnum moss in the plastic container instead.

Yep, shagnum moss is great! Vermiculite works okay too!

Wood chips will tend to get moldy when they are wet so I'm not too sure they would be suitable for a humid hide.

I think paper towels would be better than wood chips but I use sphagnum moss.
