Good places in Central FL?

Does anyone know of any great places in Central Florida that are great for snakes, rat snakes in general? I live in Winter Springs, about 15 mins North of Orlando, and I've been herpin in my 4 acres of woods in my back yard and I can't find a thing! Maybe I can see a Black Racer or Indigo about once every 2 months, but I want to go to a place where herps are thick on the floor! Anyone know of a place like this?

I guess we can all dream, right? Seriously, I will trade you a week of herpin' for numbers for 1 day (hr., min.,) with an indigo in it. There are a lot of areas near you that should produce at least a few snakes. Waters, yellow rats being common throughout the area.

i was just there a couple weeks ago. theres a place off of 192 st. called emerald lake. across the street from there there is great savanah habitat with gopher tortise holes narrow mouth frogs black racers and rattle snakes. now take 192 to a place called splended china. you will see 2 dragons at the street near "splended china" follow the street. you will pass splended china and the feild will be on your right. i am sorry that i am really crappy with directions.

Ill try to find a map,
Jordan

I think I'll try and go to the Little Big Econ National Forest. That place is like 12,000 acres of forest! There should be some cool stuff in there!

I think Little Big Econ is a State Forest. It's cool though and about 5,000 acres of wilderness. May head over there later this year. Let us know what you find.
