Yawning????
I went into my room yesterday and i caught my cornsnake with his head just stickin out of his beddin....i watched him for 5 mins and durin the 5 mins he opened his mouth REALLY WIDE  twice....is he just yawning or is there something wrong???

Probably just yawning... do you have any idea how long I've been trying to get a picture of a burm's gaping yawn? By the time I get the camera out, they're always done.  Probably wouldn't hurt to check his mouth to make sure theres no substrate in it, just in case, though I doubt it, yawning or just resetting their jawbones isn't unusual.

when i got my firs ball python I let her rome around on my bed will I was seting up her terarium I heated the empty tank up with a heat lamp and forgot to set it up so any ways as I was doing that she was roaming around and all of a suden she stoped and I started to wanch her for a bit then she coild up in a nice littel circel then she yand I looked at her and saied '' I dont think so you sleep in hear I sleep in my bed '' she then looked at me like she knew she was royalty. LOL (royal python) I have loved snakes since that day.

I think sometimes they do that before a shed to help loosen the skin on it's head.

lol...i was actullay tryin to get a pic of it!!...but he had stopped just after i got the camera ready! my luck....
checked his mouth....all clear.

It is normal for snakes to yawn or thretch their jaws. Do not be alarmed about it.

I thought when they yawned it was because they were adjusting there jaws back in place. My corns do it all of the time.

After feeding, they do "yawn" to re=locate their bottom jaw back into place. This is usually done within an hour of feeding. Any other time, aside from having something in their mouth, such as substrate, it is just yawning. Do not be alarmed.
