Yes.
All the babies would appear normal, but based on the LOA, 50% would carry the pied gene.

Pied x Normal = all 100% hets!
The pied gene is simple recessive and thus acts like any other recessive gene (such as the albino gene....etc)

ok sweet, so if I bred one of htose 50% het girls back to the peid dad, I should get 25% peid, 50% het and 25% normal (providing they were het) or 50% het/50% normal if they werent, right?

Pied x normal = all 100% hets
Pied x 100% het = 1/2 pied and 1/2 100% hets
Pied x Pied = all pieds

Like Corey said, if you breed a Pied male to a normal female you get all hets. If you breed the Pied male back to his daughters you should get 50% Pieds and 50% definite hets. Hope that is clear.

OOPS!
I was thinking het male to normal = 50%.
The others are correct.
If Corey were to breed his Pied male to 10 of my normal females I would get all hets and I would thank him very much!
It was worth a try!
Thanks Corey.

Looks like math equations.
I learned how recessive genes work a while ago, but forgot.
Good refresher, Cory & Ron.

A "BIT" of money??? LOL. If you think that a pied male only costs a bit of money, I would love to see what costs a lot.
