wont eat

i have a pair of cooks that i cant get to eat. i have tried live mice, putting them in delicups, an anole. i hear that chicken might be a good scent to use. help me please

Are these adults, juveniles or neonates? Are they WC or CB?

First off, what are the temps? and humidity?

One thing the worked good for me is taking the f/t pinkie, fuzzy which ever applies, and lightly slap it across your Amazon's face. It sounds cruel but it will usually piss him off enough to strike and eat it. Ammies never retreat.

Not that it matters, but dont have your heart set on them being Cooks. Specialy if they have any color on them.

Please let us know the temps and humidity though that would be a big help. Also how long have you had them?

i am well aware that there are few cooks, but that is what they were labeled as from glades, and they are allegedly cb as well. they have little pin stripping. the humidity is around 90 as is the temp. i can't even get them to bite let alone eat. i have had them for approximately a month and a half

they are neonates but almost 2 feet long, but thin

If you aren't 100% certain that they are cb...then it's pretty safe to assume they are wc.....

I'd try and get a good look in their mouths if you can for mouth rot and signs of upper resp. trouble...I just lost a neonate Ammie this way (was not eating as well), due to it's size @ just under 10g we didn't even have a syringe small enough to feed and adminster meds in an effective manner...being so small the poor things delicate system just couldn't cope. My vet and I did the best we could, and if anything it makes me more determined to establish captive propogation of Amazon Tree Boas than before.

If all is clear...Green Tree frogs work well, I have had more success with the frogs than the anoles.

Believe it or not, try lowering the temps a bit. Ammies prefered range is 80-85. 90 is a bit too warm for them. Glades huh? Prolly w/c. they may have parasites. Try bringing a fecal to you vet. Are they nippy and active? or very passive?
