which is better? Emerald Tree Boa Vs Green Tree Python

Hello! I am interested in either getting an emerald tree boa or a green tree python. I really like both but I have noticed that the GTP are easier to find and sometimes cheaper. Thought at the same time I do like the look of the ETBs just a little bit more. For people who have experience with these beautiful beasts, which one do you prefer? Also, one thing that would really sway my decision one way or another would be temperament. I know each snake is individual but I was wondering which tends to have better temperament. Thanks!

Hello, I have 3 ETBS and 1 GTP, Temperament 100% depends on the snake. I'm going to stick with talking about C. caninus and not corallus batesii (amazon basins tree boa) since I don't have any experience with those yet. One of my ETBS is CB and the other 2 are imports. My cb yearling is very sweet and has never attempted to strike at me. I don't handle my snakes much but I'm confident that she would let me. My male import who is probably a few years old but still very young looking is also very calm and never tried to bite but being an import I'm more cautious. My larger female is a bit more reactive and if you linger your hand too long she will take a bite. My GTP female is also an import long term captive and she's a bitch. She is extremely reactive. All that said I hear about different stories with different people all the time. If you do get either of these I highly recommend CB esp with ETBs. WC etbs just seem to go down hill very fast. My cbb etb has never had a single issue since getting her. While my larger import female went months without feeding. I personally prefer ETBS for their natural color and markings as well as over all shape.

Okay. Thank you very much! I was going to go captive bred but finding a ETB breeder is proving to be very difficult.

And an imported snake means that it was farm raised but from another country, right?

Sorry I guess I should have been more clear. When I say import I mean imported from their native country and WC. Ig import can mean just that imported from CB stock from another country as well but my imports are WC. If you see someone list their animals as farm raised its likely just WC like underground reptile.
