New snake owner from Europe

Hello,

I'm a new snake owner since yesterday.
a Brooksi kingsnake hatchling

I set up a terrarium with reptibark and a heatmap,
hot-cold hide and a large waterbowl.

But my snake doesn't seem very active,
he burrows himself in the substrate and
don't do nothing.

Does anybody have experience with this?

Thanks,
Andrej (Antwerp - Belgium)

Heatmap set at 98 degrees, what is actualy 89 degrees because
the sensor is between heatmap and glass tank.

I've read it with a infrared gun several times just empty, about 89 degrees.
In hot hide with substrate, about 80 degrees.

Setpoint 37 °C, measuring about 32 °C with infrared gun in
empty tank (sensor between heatmat and glass terrarium).

In hot hide, on substrate, about 26 °C

It's not uncommon for kingsnakes to burrow and stay there for a while. When they get hungry they will start to come out. If your snake doesn't start to get active at some point in the next week or so (how old is it? It will need to eat more frequently if it's a juvenile) you may wanna try a vet
