She died.
My beautiful 5 month old Hypo Tangerine Honduran Milk Snake is dead. She had a 1 inch segment in the middle of her body that was bright green when I found her. She seemed healthy although she wasn't eating. But I thought it was due to the winter. Any idea what could've happened?

Re: She died.
That really sucks, however I don't know enough about milksnakes to tell you what happened, you should consider posting details of your husbandry and a bit more information on your snake and I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to help you. I don't really know a lot about them but milksnakes are really cool and I am sad yours died my condolences.

Yeah, we likely could determine what happened if you gave us more information.

Re: She died.
Shoebox tub, cross ventilation, aspen fibers, warm hide, cool hide, humidity box, water bowl, 90's on the hot spot, low 80s on the cool side. UTH with thermostat. She shed once but she wouldn't eat. Assist fed a mouse tail a few weeks ago.

Re: She died.
It looks a bit like a bruise maybe? Although it doesn't sound like there is anything that could have fallen on her. I'm very sorry for your loss

Re: She died.
It looks like a bruise, but it could just be discoloration.
Lack of appetite is a big sign that something is wrong though, although your husbandry was totally fine, so it likely was not your fault.
The only thing I could think it could be (since a bruise would not cause death) would be either septicemia, or some kind of parasite.
When did you get her?

Re: She died.
The green spot is caused by the gallbladder, it's quite common for it to be turn green after passing. This animal may have been a case of failure to thrive, either way the green spot is not the cause of death but caused by the death.

Re: She died.
A $250 failure to thrive. I've only had her for 2 months.
