Should I buy specialized lighting for an albino snake? In other words, will an albino bp be effected negatively from a normal light? I am planning to buy a 5% UV and LED bulb/strip sorta thing. If anyone has any past experience/information with this kind of thing, any information would be greatly appreciated.
Basking species with albinism have special UVB requirements. Ball pythons aren't basking species. I don't expect that an albino ball python would have any problems with standard incandescent or LED lighting. Choosing to give a ball python access to low level UVB is fine, just make sure not to use a CFL fluorescent. That style of bulb is most likely to cause eye injuries in any reptile, with albinos being more susceptible. A tube UVB fluorescent should be fine.
