Alexa the Checkered garter makes an appearance

Alexa made an appearance for her first picture... she was venturing around her enclosure and then peeked out and posed. Normally she won't wait for me to get the camera.

Thank you! I wanted a garter snake for a long time and when I got the opportunity to purchase her I jumped at the chance. She is a character for sure!

I love garter snakes...My favorite part about them is that you can house several of them together! Do you plan on having more than 1?

Yes, I plan on adding another one or two garter girls to my garter collection. I am waiting for one to be born - hopefully the birth is in good timing with my bank account.

Alexa is so much fun to watch - we made the switch from earthworms to pinkies... she is still on the small side but ate a chopped up pinky with no leftovers. I will be glad when she can eat a whole pinky without me chopping it up. I chop a frozen pinky and let it thaw the rest of the way and that worked best for Alexa.
