Question on snake shedding cycles

Just wondering if this is normal for some snakes or species. Got my Brooks kingsnake as a juvenile and have had him for 2.5 years. For most of that time he will have two sheds in a short span of time and then go a significantly longer period of time before the next shed. He is 3 years old now and his shedding cycle goes something like shed 1, a few weeks to a month later shed 2, several months later shed 3, a month later shed 4. Occasionally there will be 2 sheds with long intervals between, but he always goes back to having two sheds close together. All his sheds are complete. And he seems very healthy. Is this shedding pattern somewhat normal?

My rat snake, on the other hand, has a regular schedule of having the same interval between all his sheds. This is what I expected and it just makes me wonder more about my kingsnake.

Re: Question on snake shedding cycles

My gray band would usually wait for about one to two months after shed 1 before proceeding with shed 2.
