Snakes Or Beardies

Hi,

Im building up a pet room in my house (using my child's old nursery) Currently there is 2 budgies in there.
Im looking to getting into the reptile hobby.

Im wanting a Beardie but my daughter wants either a corn or ball python!!

Im also thinking of putting guinea pigs in there.

My question is would the snakes be able to smell the guinea pigs when outside their cage? Would it drive them mad not being able to get to them?

My ferrets share a room with all my snakes. Never been a problem.
