Smile Hello

Hello, I am not only new to the forum, but also to the world of Reptiles. I have always had a desire to own a snake and now that my 7-year-old twins want a snake I thought it would be a great time. The only obstacle we have is my wife who doesn't want a snake in the house and I live by the old rule "Happy Wife...Happy Life", so it is a bit of a challenge. Although I am sure we can overcome this obstacle.

I have done a lot of research on the type of snake we would get and decided on a Kenyan Sand Boa. Now I am sure everyone has an opinion, but I am pretty set on the KSB, though I would listen to reason. I made this decision based on the fact that the KSB doesn't get too big and it should be easier to keep the arid environment, which I think will be a selling point for my wife.

I am currently trying to decide if I want to create a Bioactive terrarium or a regular setup, I would like to hear anyone's opinion on this topic. I think I saw a forum for this topic, so I will check it out. I hope to have the equipment needed to house a snake in the next three months and then we can get a snake.

I'm glad that I found this group and look forward to learning from all of you and jumping into this hobby with both feet.

Take Care,
Boz
