My name is Ashley. I am new to this forum, as well as new to taking care of snakes. My bfs 8 year old daughter is in love with snakes and we told her if she did well in school we would get her one. Well, that day came sooner than later. I probably should have researched more, but we ended up getting her a ball python. The main reason I came on this forum is for some help. We got the snake around 3 months ago, he/she hasn't ate anything, and her skin now has been looking very wrinkly, but it has been this way for a couple weeks now. I am getting a little worried. Is this all normal? I did some research and it just made me more worried.

What type/size enclosure is the snake in?
How are you heating the enclosure?
ARE YOUR HEAT SOURCES REGULATED BY A THERMOSTAT???
What are your temps? And how are you checking temps and where?
Is the snake a juvenile?
How much does the snake weigh?
What prey have you offered?
Do you have proper hides and security for the snake?

Are you handling the snake??

The more you tell us the more we can help.

The two main reasons why new snakes refuse food are 1) husbandry issues and 2) stress.

Answering the above questions will help us figure that out, get your snake eating and get to you enjoying your pet.
