Question Bulb help

Hi everyone, gonna get a wooden viv for my python today, just need some advice on bulb setup, what type of bulb should I get for him, I know they don't appreciate too much light, also do I need a heat mat or will the bulb be enough? Any tips at all about him living in a wooden Viv would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Jase

Re: Bulb help

I personally would go with a the dark purple bulbs. They provide just enough light for us to see inside the enclosure, but dark enough the snakes aren't bothered by them. Otherwise, go with a CHE

Re: Bulb help

I do a heat pad for all of my snakes. Always attached to a thermostat as well.

Re: Bulb help

Depending on your budget, you might also want to consider a Radiant Heat Panel (RHP) to heat your enclosure. I switched over from heat pads to RHP for all of my enclosures and feel that they do a much better job maintaining the temperatures I want. Nice gentle, dependable, heat even if it gets cold in the room where the snakes are maintained. You can get RHP at ProProducts. com Just a thought...
